I was drawn in from the beginning.

Was drawn into the characters and wanted to hear their journey. Having been to China many years ago and having worked with a colleague from their, I felt some connection to the places. Had to check Google Maps several times. As a student of history, it was interesting to learn what it was like from a more personal point of view

Magical, spiritual & romantic

Interesting depiction of love between different lives, the immortals leaving the Earth due to the atrocities of war. Nice characters and beautiful, lyrical, journeys.

A good read

I really enjoyed this story and loved the narrator. It was a bit hard to follow at times and had to start over to catch things I had missed but overall I enjoyed it

Love libraries! I was amazed how the students transported all the books during a war! Loved loved the book!

I enjoyed the fact that you really did'nt know about how professor Lee had the main character become his spy!

This story had me rushing to finish it! Had to discover the end. The writing style was also beautiful.
