Life and living are a series of lessons in which Our God is attempting to teach us how to live if we wish to find true meaning and purpose in this earthly life and an eternity of bliss in the life to come. He gives us all some cross to carry that will shape us into His Likeness and Image. Whatever our cross is we must come to love and embrace it as our very best friend and ally. This is because on the other side of our cross Christ is crucified. When we learn to acknowledge and embrace our cross without self pity we will very soon find that our cross begins to carry us. Rory learned to embrace and befriend his cross even amid contradiction and condemnation and also learned the very beautiful lesson that it is truly in giving that we receive. He refused to feel sorry for himself even despite the stigma that came with his cross. This is because he realized that his cross was specially crafted and suited just for him by his Creator.
