Resumen del Editor

It's Stranger Things meets Night of the Living Dead, meets Dungeons & Dragon set to an '80s music soundtrack!

From beyond the black...

It's the 1980's - Pac-Man, MTV, Ronald Reagan, E.T. flew across the moon and Michael Jackson turned into a werewolf in "Thriller." Apple releases its Macintosh computer while the HIV/AIDS virus spreads worldwide.

Elsewhere, a mysterious demonic cult, long silent for a millennia, rises from the shadows to reveal their diabolical agenda.

A radicalized terrorist group detonates deadly biochemical bombs all over the world.

The Sanctity Virus - a deadly plague - kills thousands, causing the dead to rise, feasting and contaminating others, sending the planet into chaos and darkness.

In England, one survivor of an ancient, secret group of silent protectors, calling themselves the Keepers of the Eternal Flame, stands blood-sworn to defend the world from the evils of the Inferno.

In New York, all 17-year-old, social misfit, Warren Brennan wants to do is graduate, get out of his backwoods, western New York town and draw comics for Marvel Comics. But the best-laid plans of chubby nerds who are suddenly thrust into the role of fighting for humanity’s survival often go awry when an odd, overpowering yellow-tinted rainstorm engulfs the world. With it, the deadly virus swiftly spreads around the globe, killing and mutating untold millions, creating an exponentially growing army of the undead.

The Last in Line and Then...

What do you get when you cross all the world's major religions, a Harry-Potter-like slightly flawed wizard, teens from the 80's, and a heavy serving of zombies? The Last in Line! So this is definitely a new twist on the classic zombie story without losing any of the classic zombie in the process. If you're looking for your zombie fix while you're waiting for the new season of The Walking Dead, here it is. The narration is great, I especially liked Capt. Al, the grizzled Vietnam veteran turned DJ spinning the hits of the day while dispensing his pearls of hard-earned wisdom.

Why only 4 stars? OK, I know that it's a trilogy and this is only book one, but seriously Thom you could have given us a better ending to whet our appetites for book 2! Never the less, bring on book 2!

The Last in Line

Wow!I was not expecting so much from one book!I did not know 'Jolt' was created in 1985 until I googled it,and who, besides my husband and the 200 other senior citizens we sat with, at a little theater in Pa last year, remembers the STRAWBS?!lol
Anyway,Reagan, dirty bombs, bad rain, zombies,a group of kids who have special powers and a Veitnam vet spinning tunes into the apocolypse all lead us to book 2.I'll have to look for that. TJ Clark was a good narrator, though I pictured C3PO when Elton spoke. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
