Resumen del Editor

Come, quibble about a galaxy far, far away!

Once, in a theater long ago and far, far away, young audiences who watched the nostalgic space epic of yesteryear, known then only as Star Wars, were duly enthralled. So much goodwill, so much affection, and so much love has rarely been lavished on any franchise. So much money from so many eager fans was never so readily available.

Yet, with one potent death star-like blast of mind-breakingly awful filmmaking, the Disney Corporation has managed to alienate that goodwill, spurn that affection, and lose that money.

Why? What makes The Last Jedi so appallingly bad? What made the filmmaker think he could win over his audience by insulting his audience?

Science fiction grand master John C. Wright laments, analyzes, and autopsies the horrific story-telling of a film that, for so many of us, was the last hope for Star Wars, the last dime we will ever spend on this once-beloved franchise, and the last straw that broke our patience.

Sardonic and Scathing take down

Hilarious! A scathing review and dissection of the Last Jedi, Wright rips apart the feeble "plot" and motivations of the "characters" in this trash heap of a film. The reader's accent is spot on, hitting the right sardonic emphasis everytime

Something entertaining came about from TLJ

My reactions: 1) English narrators have a rare gift to eloquently express pain and 2) I'd like to hear more about Anarey and Drokko, his twin Dralk, Finn's sergeant and XP101.

A British Accent makes it even funnier

If you didn't care for The Last Jedi, you're in good company. John c. Wright breaks down all the reasons why people reacted so badly to this movie and explains the many, many problems with it from the perspective of a seasoned Sci-fi author. The fact that it's read in a British accent just makes the dry humor more cutting and funny. It came out before Rise of Skywalker, so I'm hoping for a followup.

Laughed because it caused her pain and I hate her

Further proof that if John C Wright had written the most recent additions to Star Wars it would've been entertaining and had meaning.

Hilarious, accurate, and important!

John C. Wright gives TLJ the thrashing it so richly deserved. Not just a subjective "I don't like it" but a genuine, and thorough author's masterclass in why the film is objectively terrible. He demonstrates what makes TLJ an exercise in bad art. Not just bad art, but an act of artistic vandalism. Kenneth Dickerson is the icing on the cake, because such a droll destruction needs to be presented in a British accent.
