Loved the book it explains events that the dalton gang did and gives background to the family

Another good one.

I have always liked Calvin's books. Very informative. I have two minor complaints for this one. The narrator misprounced Tahlequah, Oklahoma a number of times. Also, from this book you'd think Winchester was the only make of rifle anyone carried in the 1870's-1890's.

In April, 1890, Alex Cochran killed a US Marshal outside Claremore in Indian Territory. Marshals in Tulsa were sent for. The responding Marshals were Grat and Bob Dalton. Someone pointed the suspect out to them; when told to stop, he fled on horseback. Bob, a noted marksman, fired from 300 yards, killing the suspect. The only problem? It was Cochran’s son, not the killer.

Mr. Clavin’s book is replete with fascinating details like this involving the Daltons, who ended up gunned down by the citizenry of Coffeyville, KS during a robbery in 1892.

I had no idea the Daltons story heavily involved two Oklahoma towns I claim as hometowns, Claremore and Perry.

It is a fascinating story, well told.

Great book and well told

I was sad when it was over! The guy who narrates is excellent, the story is factual and it’s one of the best books I’ve listened to on the subject.
