The Last Election

For decades, the party of the right has sought to consolidate its hold on power and secure permanent control of all three branches of the United States Government. Finally, in the 2052 general elections they seem to be on the threshold of achieving this long-held dream, with the election of Leland Case to the presidency, solid majorities in both the House and Senate, and an 8 – 1 majority on the Supreme Court.
The only thing standing against this perfect storm that could finally wash away American democracy for good is Alan Fortune, a columnist for The Daily Ledger. The first thing the new cabal does is to pressure the paper’s owner to fire him, driving him to an online publication that, until his hiring, has limited readership. Now, he’s considered an even greater threat.
Alan faces the greatest challenge of his life and career—one that becomes a literal matter of life and death. The age-old battle of good and evil, and evil seems to be holding all the cards.
