The Klyce family featured in A Step In Time Catherine's Tale and A Step In Time Part 2, Kate's Tale. The Klyce Family in America is the story of Irish healer Maude Clancy and Polish Frank Edward (Ed) Klyce. In 1803, Maude and her parents set sail for America and a settlement in Clearfield, Kentucky. They work their way to the Great Wagon Road, and follow it ito the Block House (Today's Roanoke, Virginia). Ed has been an indentured wood carver for a plantation owner in Jamestown. Ending his service time, Ed travels to the Block House on his way to Kentucky. Advised to form a group, and travel south to Bean's Station, then up to the Cumberland Gap, several families join forces.
