The Jesus prayer or The arrow prayer

The Lord Jesus granted His disciples His name, not merely to perform miracles, heal the sick, take out demons. Still, also He has emphasized to them the power of His name while saying: "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you." (John 16:23), meaning through Him, we can reach the Father and enjoy eternal glory. The seventy apostles realized the power the name of Jesus as they said: "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." (Luke 10:17). Isaiah the prophet described in his song of thanksgiving on the power of God's name, as he says: "The desire of our soul is for Your name
St. Ephraim the Syrian says: [The name of Jesus is great; it is the passage from death to life. I have come to You through the first letter of Your name, which has picked me up and directed me towards Your righteousness, for Your love's sake, allow me to pass through You to the Father. And when I reach Him, I will say: "Blessed is He who lifts His wrath from us because of His son".
St. Gregory the theologian says that all Christians should repeat the name of the Lord in prayer more than the number of their breaths: [We must not merely pay unceasingly with the name of the Lord Jesus, but we ought to practice this and teach it to others, to everyone in general, for it is appropriate and beneficial to all.]
St. John Cassian says: [It is not imagination or speech or mere words, it rather springs like a spark lit with charcoal which is the heart's movement. And from the activity of the spirit which does not go out, wherein the mind is carried over all the material things which can be seen or felt, and pours its prayers with groaning and sadness that cannot be uttered.]
St. John Chrysostom says: [I urge you not ever to abandon your canon of prayer, rather when you eat, drink, travel, or perform anything, cry without ceasing – My Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me a sinner."] Likewise, he says: [Do not let your heart be estranged from God, but dwell in it, and always protect your heart by the remembrance of the Lord Jesus, until the name of the Lord penetrates your heart, and you stop thinking about anything else. So that Christ may be glorified within you.]
