You are THERE!...(soundtrack edition)

I totally enjoyed this book! I LOVED having the soft "background atmospheric" sounds along with the excellent narration. It made me feel as though I were right there alongside the characters on some foreign journey, and swept up with them in their thrilling adventure. There were SO many unexpected twists and turns that I did not see coming! Every chapter ending was a "whaaaat, nooo!!!" jaw dropper for me. It was very easy to get caught up in the moment.

The story quickly evolves with startling new revelations...one after another (more than a soap opera)...as well as having some pretty good tense nail biting moments. I couldnt wait to find out what happened next. If there was a sequel to this book - I think I'd have to get it.

I wish that ALL audiobooks had a soundtrack! (can you tell this was my first?) How wonderful that would be! It really does broaden the whole audio experience - like taking it up another notch from band to symphony orchestra.

Soundtrack Edition is better than expected!!

What made the experience of listening to The Innocent Ones [Soundtrack Edition] the most enjoyable?

It enhanced the listening experience, For the first 10 minutes or so I found the soundtrack distracting and annoying, mostly because it was so very different from anything else I had ever listened to. But after that it was very good and enhanced the book/performance

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Scott Brick isn't my favorite narrator but I think that the added soundtrack improved his narration

SO GOOD!!! The soundtrack really added to the experience for me. It made it kind of like a movie almost. The book was fantastic. Definitely worth the read especially since it's free.

Great Story Line

I enjoyed this story and I love this narrator, but the sound effects were distracting for me. I adjusted to them by the end, but prefer my traditional audio books.

A good listen while working out

This great portable entertainment. The multiple cardboard characters/characatures were aided by a few good plot surprises. The reader did a good job with different voices, and while background sounds were not bad, they didn't add anything.

Two stories converage

The book merges two story lines in a very interesting way. The narratives from the two main characters initially created
very different story lines.. The author maintained tension in both stories lines-one more physical, the other more emotional. It introduced possible motives that changed as the story developed-the reason behind actions was hidden until the end. The addition of foy-sound effects-somtimes seemed inconsistent with the adjectives, verbs, and intent, so werentvreally distracting and didn't really add to the story line like in classical radio.

Good story, however...

While the story line kept me awake for a road trip, the sound effects sound canned and were not a good supplement.

Really enjoyed listening to this book. Kept me waiting for the next twist in the story.

after a slow start, the story got a little interesting, but not great. the narrator was dreadful. His tone was very annoying. Would not recommend this one.

Over the Top Chaos

Well, where do I start? It is over the top chaos. Wild imagination. I sure hope nothing like this ever exists. Could have been an amazing story if a little more care was spent on the details. The first 2/3 of the story was intriguing, especially the opening. The last 1/3 was almost ho hum and didn't follow the complexity of the first 2/3. Use it for entertainment where you don't have to think about how or why.
