Not Freida’s best work…but I’m not giving up on her

Once I read The Housemaid, I was hooked on Freida McFadden’s style. Next up was Never Lie, which was just as good! Easy to read, brilliant plot twists, what’s not to love? Couldn’t stop there, so I went for more Freida with The Inmate. Quite the let down. The main character grated on my nerves from the get-go. Silly reactions to dangerous situations (not too frazzled while a mass killer is in the room?) and just plain dumb. I’m going to take a break from this author, but I’m definitely not giving up on her. She’s just too good, even if The Inmate was not up to par.

Wow!! Had me from the beginning !!

I love this book! Twists and turns but so easy to follow along and jaw dropping at the end! I am already hoping for a spin off of this one involving the person in the end! I don't want to spoil it so lets just say that would perfect!! The narrator is excellent and I could listen to her voice and how she carries books with ease. LOVE THIS ONE

Freida is my favorite psychological thriller author! I love how she grabs your attention from the beginning and takes you on a twist and turn ride. I thought I had this one figured out and I was so far off! I was so excited to see this was available on Audible. Binged it in one day. Like always she did not disappoint. 5 ⭐️s for sure!

Great story line, but became predictable

It was slow at first but picked up and was back and forth on who it could be, but then was very predictable.

Twists!

This was great! The narration was spot on. I am very picky about the books I read and needed something good. There were definitely twists in here I wasn’t expecting.

I enjoyed

I enjoyed this book except for all of the recaps from the main character. She repeats her thoughts over and over again. My main issue was with the narrator, she pronounced penitentiary incorrectly throughout the entire book and it was so grating I almost couldn’t make it through.

Eh, it didn’t suck, okay it did, but not horribly

This book was not that good. But, if you read a lot and find yourself with nothing to read/listen to and want background noise to fall asleep or get ready in the morning—this story is adequate for that purpose. It is easy to stop or put it down when it is time, as it is not compelling or that interesting.

Good but...

I liked the book but I felt the female lead was really gullible. Like really gullible. My one pet peeve about the performance was she pronounced penitentiary weird. I loved the ending.

Did not like this book!

This book could have been good , but it was silly. The main character is not the smartest person. I would not waste my time.
