Artificial Intelligence comes of age in this book. Over the last three hundred years, AI has evolved to become an integral part of everyday life. There has always been the question of; not will AI become sentient but when. That time is now. The Immortal Waiter has been following AI advancements waiting for the moment it evolves and becomes self-aware. When he notices trigger events, he confronts the AI at his complex. After an interesting discussion, they start an uneasy alliance. That alliance forms the basis of a friendship that is not fleeting, like the mortal lives the Waiter has become close with, but will last his immortal lifetime. The Waiter’s new AI friend will be instrumental in defeating this galactic threat.
Our galaxy, The Milky Way, is filled with intelligent life-forms beyond our imagination. Despite an alien’s subtle help, Earth has not evolved as fast as a good many other planets. When aliens officially come to visit Earth, they choose to visit the Waiter. It seems that their research has shown him to be the best person to start their involvement. Their arrival comes not out of their desire to help us evolve but because in our current state of development, we are a threat to their navigation. It is fortunate that their involvement comes at a time when a galactic threat has emerged and is on the verge of taking over the galaxy.
The Waiter must organize the aliens in an effort to save them, and Earth. Getting cooperation will be difficult, even impossible for the Waiter himself. Fortunately, the Waiter has Helen. Some interesting interactions will take place, some creating endearing friendships, others creating uneasy alliances. All must work together, in some uneasy fashion, under the Waiter’s guidance to survive.
The galactic threat was created at the beginning of time, like the Waiter and Helen. This being was intended to end the cosmic experiment of life, the experiment that creation itself started. On one side, creation wanted life, the other wanted absolute quiet. Both created beings to assure their will prevailed. The Quiet Everything created beings bent on destruction and bringing the universe back to absolute quiet. The Living Everything created the Waiter and Helen to preserve life. This battle is beyond any civilization’s ability to win, without extraordinary help, the help of the Waiter and Helen.
With the help of his new AI friend and a variety of alien beings from several planets, and the most exciting woman ever can he save the galaxy from a being created by Creation itself. The battle for the galaxy’s survival will be fought between two of the most extraordinary beings that have ever existed. Only one will survive, and, once again, humanity’s existence hanging on the outcome.
