I learned a lot about myself
This audiobook is a completely different experience if you sit down and do the exercises. I discovered so much about myself. I also appreciate the positive tone of the author because all these behaviors are deplorable. I would think it would be hard to talk to a narcissist without judging them. The narrator did not sound judgy or like they were lecturing you. Love the 54321 strategy.

An awesome resource
I listened to this book while doing some general cleaning the other day. The tips managing toxic habits and building emotional intelligence were practical and easy to understand, though some parts felt a bit repetitive. But overall, this audiobook is a solid resource for anyone looking to improve their relationships and mindset. Plus, I found the narrator's voice quite comforting for some reasons.

Practical, Insightful, and Worth Your Time
We all know someone who struggles with toxic behavior...many times, that person might be us. So, if you have any desire to become a better version of yourself - both for your sake and for the people around you - this is a great place to start.
On the whole, the advice is very actionable, and it all felt very realistic and easy to implement - if you have a mind to do so. Listening to a workbook is very different than going through a physical copy, though, and some sections required a little imagination and deep introspection on my part as I followed a few of the exercises. That said, it's an incredibly valuable book, and I learned a lot about myself during the journey. I'd just recommend grabbing a notebook while you're listening, in order to jot down thoughts, ideas, or examples that come to mind.
On the whole, this is something that everyone should pick up and approach with serious intent. Even if you don't think of yourself as a toxic person, there's always room to improve!

Finding Calm in a Toxic and Chaotic World
This is a very thoughtful, practical guide in developing self awareness and improving relationships. It clearly takes the reader through recognizing toxic habits and replacing them with healthier communication and emotional skills. The exercises flow nicely and take one through natural self reflection to find those triggers that stir up unwanted emotions and allow them to develop emotional intelligence.
What stood out most was how relatable and non judgmental it sounded. The chapters on setting boundaries and repairing trust hit particularly hard. They are like tools you could use right this very second in real life, and that's powerful.
Whether to mend or heal toxic relationships or understand oneself better, this book maps out a path to growth and lasting change in a friendly, approachable manner of support.

Exploring the roots of toxic behavior
There comes a time in life when certain individuals take a step back, look at their lives, and wonder why those that were in their inner circle over the years have left them. It’s not rocket science, it’s based on this one, simple little thing: People want to be respected. If they are not, then they will find a way to move on to somewhere they are. A little respect goes a long way, and if you’re not respecting those around you because of some irregular traits within your behavior, then it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to show you were you misstepped and why your life might not be going in a positive direction. But not all hope is lost as Caleb Petersen shows evidence for. We can change and can do so with practical applications of behavior-based systems and mindset-enhancing perspectives, all of which are offered in abundance in this title. “We’ll explore the roots of your toxic behavior and shine a light on the emotional triggers that set you off.” This is the vibe Peterson starts the title with and it’s all uphill from there.
