Everyone refers to the St. Cecelia as “the Saint.” If you grew up coming here, you were “a Saint.” If you came from the wrong side of the river, you were “an Ain’t.” Traci Eddings was one of those outsiders whose family wasn’t rich enough or connected enough to vacation here. But she could work here. One fateful summer she did, and married the boss’s son. Now, she’s the widowed owner of the hotel, determined to see it return to its glory days, even as staff shortages and financial troubles threaten to ruin it. Plus, her greedy and unscrupulous brother-in-law wants to make sure she fails.

Crissy Dowling has created a world that suits her perfectly. She passes her days by the pool in a private cabana, she splurges on ice cream but never gains an ounce, and each evening she transforms into a Princess, performing her musical cabaret inspired by the life of the late Diana Spencer. Some might find her strange or even delusional, an American speaking with a British accent, hair feathered into a style thirty years old, living and working in a casino that has become a dated trash heap.

Resumen del Editor
Named an Anticipated Read of 2024 by Entertainment Weekly and a Best Historical Fiction novel of 2024 by BookBub.
As death stalks a gothic mansion in Miami, the lives of two women intertwine as the past and present collide in New York Times bestselling author Chanel Cleeton’s atmospheric new novel.
With the Great War finally behind them, many Americans flock to South Florida with their sights set on making a fortune. When wealthy industrialist Robert Barnes and his wife, Anna, build Marbrisa, a glamorous estate on Biscayne Bay, they become the toast of the newly burgeoning society. Anna and Robert appear to have it all, but in a town like Miami, appearances can be deceiving, and one scandal can change everything.
Years later following the tragic death of her parents in Havana, Carmen Acosta journeys to Marbrisa, the grand home of her estranged older sister, Carolina, and her husband, Asher Wyatt. On the surface, the gilded estate looks like paradise, but Carmen quickly learns that nothing at Marbrisa is as it seems. The house has a treacherous legacy, and Carmen’s own life is soon in jeopardy . . . unless she can unravel the secrets buried beneath the mansion’s facade and stop history from repeating itself.
Reseñas de la Crítica
"Chanel Cleeton goes gothic with her latest, and it's a smashing success! The House on Biscayne Bay is a splashy, atmospheric thrill-ride!"—Kate Quinn, New York Times bestselling author of The Diamond Eye
“Reminiscent of Rebecca and Mexican Gothic, Cleeton has spun an eerie, unpredictable tale of secrets in old-world Florida. No one is to be trusted in The House on Biscayne Bay, and Cleeton will leave even the most discerning readers in awe as she reveals twist after twist. Brilliantly done!”—Sarah Penner, New York Times bestselling author of The Lost Apothecary
"The House on Biscayne Bay has it all–glitz, glamor, and a mesmerizing murder. This haunting tale is gorgeously written and will keep you riveted until the end. Such a fabulous read!"—Madeline Martin, New York Times bestselling author of The Librarian Spy

Terrific performance, predictable storyline
Cleeton’s books follow a predictable pattern. I very much enjoyed the first few I read, but now it feels a little tired. The performance of this audiobook is terrific. The book has a lot of internal dialogue making it a great audio read. I finished it in one day.

Quick to get into the mystery
I love this author’s series about Cuban sisters so I was excited and waiting for this book to be released. I didn’t quite fall in love with the characters & relationships in this book like I have in her other books, but I love the way she gets right into the story quickly. She switches back and forth between the timelines smoothly giving you hints and details throughout instead of waiting to share everything at the end. Less romantic connection than her other books and I missed that, but it was an interesting story that moved along quickly.
