Stephen Satlow is an eight-year-old boy living in Brooklyn, New York, which means he only cares about one thing - the Dodgers. Then it happens - Steve's new neighbor is none other than Jackie Robinson! Steve is beyond excited about living two doors down from the Robinson family. He can't wait to meet Jackie. This is going to be the best baseball season yet! How many kids ever get to become friends with their hero?

An uplifting story for all ages

Written by Jackie Robinson’s daughter Sharon, this is a heartwarming story of a friendship between a young boy and his baseball player hero who moved two doors down. It is the story of breaking down barriers of race and religion and discovering the friendship outweighs the differences among us. Terrific narration.

it was amazing. It was one of my favorite types

it was si good. because it reminded me of realufe occurrences and it was awesome.

The important of being nice and clumsy

It is a very nice and easy way to make read it is so short so it would be good for a book report.

Great Story for 3rd/4th graders

My kids weren’t interested in the beginning but as the story went on they fell in love. We all really enjoyed this story.

I felt I was there with them

This books gives us a sense of hope in this world of differences and controversies. It makes you think in the important things of life. And oh, it bright so much tears to my eyes.

The only thing I would be a great way to go to school today and it will not be able to do that in mind for me to get do that for me I was a little bit of a new song phone call with analysts said say it was so funny and cool but I can't

Sweet

Sweet book but felt like it was written for kids. Once I started it I had to finish and happy I did but wouldn’t recommend for adults unless you’re reading to a kid.

Really good book

This is a very good book for boys and girls it really lets you know the friendship between Jacky and Steve.

Memories of growing up in Brooklyn.

I am 82 now but this brought me back to my earliest years of growing up on the streets of Brooklyn and living or dying with the ups and downs of my Brooklyn Dodgers.
Listening on the radio to the play by play still resonates in my ears and brain.
After they left Brooklyn I could never bring myself to root for them again but rooted for the former Brooklyn players.
All of us that were abandoned by Scoundrel O’Malley got our vindication when the ‘69 Mets won the World Series.
A special story all us old true Dodgers fans need to read.

Great for 3rd Grade Boy

My 3rd grade son and I listened to this book a couple of times on our way to and from hockey practice. We both so enjoyed listening to it. Great lessons on what it means to be a good friend.
