In Burnaby, 1956, the dead are no longer quiet.

Lionel Malloy is a gravedigger who finds comfort in silence, soil, and the hum of an old shortwave radio. His life is simple, solitary, and without complication. That changes the night he hears a voice speak through the static. It does not shout. It simply says a name. And by morning, that person is dead.

The voice returns, each time naming someone who has not yet died. As graves begin to shift and the air thickens with a presence he cannot name, Lionel is pulled into a mystery rooted deep beneath the surface.
