Resumen del Editor

On May 8, 1945, WWII in Europe ended with Germany’s surrender. But did the Nazi Party itself surrender? Some say no.

1943: A German ship moors in a clandestine anchorage in western Mexico with a cargo of gold intended to bribe the Mexican government into declaring war on the United States. When the attempt fails, the German vessel flees leaving its gold buried somewhere along the coast of the Sea of Cortés.

1997: The horrific murder of an old flame’s husband sets former war correspondent Peter Brandt on the hunt for the hidden Nazi treasure. The search takes him down a bloody trail leading from the drug cartels of Mexico to a neo-Nazi training camp in the Southern California mountains. Along the way, he unearths a decades-long Nazi conspiracy to create a new Fourth Reich and continue the Nazi Party’s plan for world domination.

Inspired by true historical events, and recent research suggesting the Nazi Party survived the German surrender, The Fourth Rising is the latest in the Peter Brandt adventures which include Empty Places and The Last Refuge.

Praise for The Last Refuge:

“A first class performance from a writer at the very top of his game....” (SHOTs Crime and Thriller Magazine)

Best Brandt book yet!

Easily the best of the three Peter Brandt thrillers to date. It paints a chilling parallel to events occurring today.

X does not mark the spot

This was a very interesting audiobook. It was right in my wheelhouse as I listen to almost anything that weaves Nazi fiction and nonfiction into one tale. The author did quite a bit of research and it paid off as he weaves together a great story. I think I just wanted more history involved. There is definitely no shortage but with these types of stories I really like the true parts of World War II and how they weave into today’s world. Or I guess I should say, how the author weaves them into today’s world. Our characters go on somewhat of a treasure hunt which is part of the secret. I like the new landscape and how the story moves through America and Mexico. Our characters are fairly well developed and there are some secrets left to their background which if further described might give more to the story. The narration was done fairly well. I think this person’s voice was perfect for the main character however, when it came to other characters I think maybe there should’ve been a second narrator or perhaps a change invoice created by the performer. The tension and tone of his voice was great when it came to those scenes that needed it. I think there is a fine line between too much excitement and not enough and this performance fits right into that category. I will continue along with the series as I notice this is book 3 in it. I received a free copy of this audiobook from audiobook Boom in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected my opinion of this work.

Enjoyable read

The Fourth Rising (The Peter Brandt Thrillers Book 3), my fourth read/listen from author Martin Roy Hill, entertaining & enjoyable. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Tim Danko's narration made the book flow smoothly & quickly. I look forward to reading more from this author. Intrepid Private Investigator

This was the third book in the "Peter Brandt" series, and it was entertaining. I liked that the author has taken historical events and weaved them into an incredible tale. Although the story was fiction, the way that it was told, made it seem like it could happen in today's world. The story held plenty of action and swept me along with its engaging characters and unforeseen twists. I recommend this story to others who enjoy this genre. Tim Danko's narration was agreeable and enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Good Historical/Conspiracy Thriller

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is the third book in the Peter Brandt series. It is a standalone story. There are events and characters reference from prior events in prior books but the author provides quick summaries to bring you up-to-date. None of these references affect the main plot of this book.

This is a well-researched and well-plotted novel. There's plenty of action and tense moments as Peter gets an unwelcome blast from the past. Love the addition of Marmalade. Looking forward to more in this series.

The narrator, Tim Danko, is the perfect voice of Peter Brandt.
