Fabulous Christmas stories at the Wonky Inn

This collection of 3 individual and full length stories is an absolute delightful Christmas present! I loved imagining spending December holiday time with Alf and her pals encountering mischief and solving mysteries. The narrator is outstanding!

A Cozy Christmas Collection with Wonky Charm

This delightful collection of three cozy mysteries brings the magic of Christmas to Wittlecombe in the most charming way. Each story offers a unique twist that threatens to derail the holiday cheer, yet the warmth and humor of the Wonky Inn shine through. The author’s ability to weave intrigue with festive spirit makes this set a perfect seasonal read.

The narration by Tara-Louise Kaye is expressive and engaging, capturing the quirky essence of the characters beautifully. There was a minor editing glitch in the third story where a chapter ended mid-sentence, but it was easily resolved (by pulling out my kindle copy) and didn’t diminish the overall enjoyment. I appreciated the consistency in tone and pacing throughout the collection.

If you’re looking for cozy mysteries with a holiday twist and a dash of whimsy, this collection is a wonderful choice.

A Magical Holiday Treat at the Wonky Inn!

​I thoroughly enjoyed this three-book box set. It’s a refreshing take on the cozy mystery genre—rather than focusing solely on crimes, the author brings us a series of Christmas adventures where Alfhild must save her holiday plans from magical disasters. The cast is a delightful, eclectic mix of witches, ghosts, pixies, reindeer, and even monkeys!

​The Stories
​The Witch Who Killed Christmas:
A shorter novella that sets the stage perfectly. When a winter storm threatens the holiday, Alfhild must track down a reclusive witch to get Christmas back on track.

​Witching in a Wonky Winterland: This was the most atmospheric and festive of the set. With sick ghosts, a mysterious body in the woods, and a town hunting for a "monster," Alf has her hands full managing the inn and the mystery!

​O Witchy Town of Whittlecombe: This was my favorite. A mystery box puts the whole town into a deep sleep, and Alf has to find a creative cure to wake her boyfriend and the rest of the village. It was a clever, fast-paced journey.

​The Narration
​The narrator was fantastic and worked her own magic on this production! Her voice is pleasant, easy to understand, and she provides distinct, fun voices for the entire cast. She kept the energy high and the story interesting from start to finish.

​Final Thoughts
​This collection is as warm and satisfying as a mug of mulled wine. It’s entertaining, funny, and introduces a wonderful cast of new characters. I was laughing throughout the entire listen—I just love Alf to death! She always gets involved, even when she tries not to.
​Full recommendation—I can't wait to listen to the rest of the series!

very entertaining

I enjoyed the narrator, I thought her voice was pleasant, easy to understand and she kept the story interesting. Each of the books were entertaining and flowed well. There were several new fun characters introduced and unique mysteries to solve. If you like paranormal stories this is an enjoyable series.
