OMG Magni....

I know this book is about Raven and Leo but Magni isn't someone introduced later in the book. He's been around from the beginning and I was devastated about what happened. I almost cried real tears. This series has been beyond anything I've ever read. It's unique and refreshing and I'm so sad I only have one book left. Elin Peer is now at the top of my list of authors.

Love Raven and Leo

Love Raven and Leo but wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t feel the chemistry at first. It felt more experimental their first times but at least with Shelly and Marco’s experimentation the attraction was obvious. I’m glad at least that there was no other woman drama or last minute tournament withdrawals. There is some drama with Magni and a huge revelation about the royal family that kind of ties everything together. This story ramps up the end of the big reveal’s issues in the next book. I felt like Raven and Leo did have good chemistry later in the book and I loved that she was able to become a police officer

Best book in the last three!!

I love all of this series! But with the murder mystery and surprise drone accident, this one is my favorite since the very first with Christina the archeologist and Boulder! Each book has its better parts but this one truly had me entranced the whole way through!!

Frustrating and Sad

I agree with previous reviewer, hated the unfortunate circumstances with Magni. The women in this series are irritating, especially Raven and Pearl. The narrators continue to do a fantastic job with characters. Will take a brief break and resume listening. A TV series should be made out of these books!

Elin, awesome book

Loved the book and how the investigation ended. I was so sure of who did it but the twist in the end was awesome.

What a good book!

I have looked forward to Raven’s story. To finally see her in action at the police academy with the North men was a joy. I like that she staked her claim and proved she could be an cadet and get her man

Awesome Series! Makes me laugh everytime!

Raven is a very strong female character. Leo is the perfect partner. Cannot wait for the next one!

What Happened to Raven’s Romance???

This was by far the most disappointing story I’ve read in the series! Not just because of Magni-which had me floored and I wasn’t at all able to fathom why the author would twist the world she created that way. Don’t worry, no spoilers.

But to top that off, she TOTALLY cheated readers on the love story for Raven, which I had been looking forward to for several books! This story was more about the mystery behind Dina’s death and the situation with Magni.

There was BARELY any heat between the MC, and she didn’t really show them falling in love. Their scenes together seemed very short and uninspired compared to previous couples. Raven has a personality that leads the audience to expect an explosion in the bedroom with her and her partner but it seemed like the author wasn’t motivated by the couple she put together and it was obvious and all just sort of “womp womp”.

I skipped the 2 previous books because of all the reviews on how hateable Willow was and Hunter was sort of take it or leave it and I was SUPER excited to get to Raven’s story. Maybe my expectations were too high because by the time I finished this, all I could hear in my head was the price is right fail horn.

There were also quite a few discrepancies between the audible and kindle versions. It was distracting reading it while listening. And even though many other reviewers praised the narrators, I just didn’t see (hear) it at any point during the series. They were mediocre at best. Neither of them gave much, if any, distinction between characters beyond maybe the 2 genders and in the case of NB-older women v younger ones. They didn’t emphasize a lot of stressed words in the story properly.
And there were actually a few times I didn’t care for the way John Masterson read the lines for black characters. He gave them a sort of tone that I picked up on that made them “sound black”-particularly when they were giving attitude. Other listeners may not have caught it or thought anything of it, but it rubbed me the wrong way. It happened during the Warrior with Raven’s character, but I noticed it the first time during the Genius when Marco was fighting an opponent described as having ebony colored skin...

What initially made me give this series a try was the fact that there were already a couple of books starring African American women and based on the cover I THOUGHT Kahn was maybe biracial. With the first few audiobooks free to listen to through the romance package, I gave it a chance. To say that this was a letdown by Ms. Peer is a gross understatement. At this point, I don’t even care about the next one which I now know is the end of the series anyway. I may try more from the author in the future, but it’s up in the air right now.

Story was intense.

I felt pretty abused by the story line given how much I love these characters. I love a good mystery romance but I was let down by this one. performance was great as always.
