Excellent and well done

This is an excellent book of a complicated topic of the role military leaders must play in times complicated by war and covers two very different men who played the roles they were meant to play. It is fair to both without weighting the scales towards one or the other. And while the author posits an important conclusion, he allows the reader to make their own decisions as to the type of general they may prefer. When added to a great narration, this book becomes well worth your time.

Fate of the Generals

Overall well written, well researched, and well read. Two thumbs up. The only negative criticism is the annoying mispronunciation of some Philippine place names or the cruiser named for Idaho’s capital.

Incredibly well written with much new information, especially concerning General Wainwright. The comparison between these two two men is striking.

Wonderful book

I enjoyed this book because it is well written and researched. I learned a lot about General Wainwright and his courage and struggles. The narrator consistently mispronounced place names in the Philippines and that was annoying. Otherwise it's a great audio book.

Captivating Writing of the Untold Story of Wainwright and MacArthur

This is a captivating World War II story of two generals, the Philippines, human nature, and American politics based on impeccable research. The writing pulls you in with its factual imagery and places you in the middle of the Philippines during the war. Although I'm neither a history nor WW-II buff, I enjoyed this story and learned a lot in the process,
