Without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11: 6). Authentic believers have a desire to please the Lord. But sometimes, legalism and performance orientation become the default approach. God created the universe, and He can write a book. A delightful, faith-building book!
Dr. David Spoon brings a much-needed message of practical encouragement for building faith! He reads in his enthusiastic (and cheerful!) voice, which lends a joyful anticipation for what our gracious God CAN do-and WANTS to do-for His children. He backs up everything solidly with Scripture and reminds us that our Lord is never stingy. I loved "Dr. Dave's" personal illustrations and stories of miracles. I chuckled at his attempt to do a prolonged fast that fell a bit short ('been there, done that-felt defeated!)...with the reminder that we cannot merit God's love. He dearly loves us even if we fall flat! What a timely message for our often works-focused mentality. I listened twice and plan to again to fully ingrain this message of grace, expectation and HOPE!

Words to live by. The Christian life in a nutshell.
Dr. David Spoon breaks down some very basic and important life lessons for every Christian. He does this in an understandable, relatable and practical format. His humor and straightforward teachings provide fodder for the intellect on both the spiritual as well as the practical levels. The lessons he has shared, have encouraged me and reminds me of the love, generosity and involvement our Lord has in the lives of His children. This book has helped me to stand strong during my current trials. I strongly encourage each and every Christian, whether new to the faith, or those of us who have been walking with God for some time, to hang tough and wait expectantly for God to answer our prayers.
