Miley, Ellie, and little Grace are helped by the fairies who live in The Fairy Tree at the bottom of the garden, to help save their Grandad’s barley crop which has been ruined by the weather. "Grampy" will be forced to sell the farm if he doesn’t get any money for the barley, and the girls won’t be able to stay there again or ride Seamus, their donkey.
