Dr. Richard Arden is a man of science, a renowned and respected forensic anthropologist who at the age of 80 and now afflicted with an incurable disease has seen a few things, had some unusual experiences, and done some “connecting of the dots” to formulate a rather unorthodox and a bit “unscientific-sounding” hypothesis: that we are not, in fact, alone on this planet as the sole sentient form of life…that there are and have been in our midst for a very long time other beings, supernatural and immortal, who have dwelt among Humanity in concealment, disguised as us, but very real, present, and subtly influencing the course of Earth’s history.
When he gets a chance to present his evidence, after decades of research and investigation into his theory, he’s met with a mix of reactions from those few who receive it. But a meeting with an unusual colleague who hears his words presents Dr. Arden with an opportunity to see more of the “big picture”... and changes what remains of his life… forever.
From the pen of Ariel Archer, the author of works such as Beneath the Surface, Fortnight in the Shepherd’s Forest, and My Life with Rachel, comes another literary leap, a blending of paranormal and realistic fiction, laced with pop culture and satire, which once again offers another piece in the puzzle of the Human condition through imaginative storytelling.
