Hi, I’m Detty — a mum, a wife, a crocheter, a tea-lover, and someone living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). I created The FND Podcast as a place to have real, honest chats about life with this condition — the parts that are scary, the parts that are frustrating, and the parts that are still full of light. Here, you’ll hear from people with lived experience, carers, professionals, and advocates who all bring their stories, their insights, and their heart to the table. We talk about what it’s like to be diagnosed with FND, what recovery can really look like, how to manage flare-ups, navigate work, raise a family, and just keep showing up — one breath, one step, one day at a time. This podcast isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection. It’s about making space for every part of this journey — especially the parts that often get left out of the conversation. Whether you’re living with FND, supporting someone who is, or just trying to understand it better — you’re welcome here. So, grab a cuppa, get comfy, and join me for conversations that are warm, raw, and real. You’re not alone. 💛 Detty We are happy to announce that we are FND AUS Podcast series. Mar 24 2026

Episode Title: Understanding FND | Featuring Professor Jon Stone

In this short episode of The FND Podcast, Detty shares an educational presentation from Professor Jon Stone, Consultant Neurologist at the University of Edinburgh and one of the leading researchers in Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).

Professor Stone has been at the forefront of improving understanding and awareness of FND around the world. In this presentation, he explains what FND is, how it affects the way the brain and body communicate, and why increasing knowledge and awareness of the condition is so important.

Functional Neurological Disorder is a common neurological condition that can cause a wide range of real and often disabling symptoms, yet it remains widely misunderstood.

This episode shares part of Professor Jon Stone’s presentation with permission from FND Australia Support Services, helping to bring accurate education and awareness about FND to a wider audience.
