Collected here are five complete books by one of the 20th century's greatest writers, the legendary Ernest Hemingway. The scope of these stories in this volume is wide; ranging from the cafés of Paris and Madrid to fly-fishing in the mountains of Montana and back again to the battlefields of Italy during World War I. The novels in this collection are considered two of the finest works of fiction written in the 20th century and the short stories feature some of the earliest appearances of Nick Adams, Hemingway's favorite protagonist, who appeared in over two dozen of his short works.

Fantastic performance! Nice collection!

I wasn’t sure which collection to listen to so I’m leaving this review to share that this was a great choice

thoroughly unimpressed

surprisingly disappointing. ridiculous dialogue, shallow and uninsigjtful. I don't see the reason for all the fame.

Thorough treatment of topic

I liked this audiobook. As with all Hemingway writings, the works were thorough, well-edited and interesting. In some places the work was a bit lengthy but that is to be expected in light of the stories involved and the nature of the narratives.

Great collection

If you are interested in Hemingway's work, this collection is really well done. Highly recommended.

Not exactly what I expected.

I plan on reviewing each book as soon as I'm done listening. I was led to Hemingway after touring his and his ancestral cats in Key West. I will also be watching the films that are available for some of the novels. I am very impressed with the narration of Mr. Wycoff, who does an excellent job.
The Sun Also Rises
I'm not sure what I expected but this story never really seemed to have a point. There was lots of drinking, some traveling, and bull fighting but no real plot. There was a mysterious injury we were never really told about and a shallow women who couldn't decide what she wanted or from whom. This novel seemed to me to reflect more on the way Hemingway lived his own life.
A Farewell to Arms
I have never really enjoyed war movies and have never listened to a novel on the subject either. Mr Wycoff did another excellent job with the narration. Although the ending was anything but satisfactory, I did find the story interesting overall. I look forward to seeing the film adaptation. I was disappointed that the author never really explained why the main character was in the army in another country, lots of unanswered questions that the listener is left trying to figure out on their own.
In Our Time
Unfortunately, I for one was not interested in most of the content over all and it contained everything from bull fighting to trout fishing. The later getting the lions share of the narrative. As always the narrator was on point whether the accent was American English or a thick Spanish accent.
