Many little girls grow up wanting to marry their daddy at some point in their childhood development. It is a natural part of life and of family. We see the affection between our parents, and we want to mimic the closeness and the relationship that is a bond between two partners. It promotes healthy sexual development in our children, so that they will be able to choose a partner later in life. Mimicking the behavior of other humans is the way that we learn how and what is appropriate in our culture and in our society. Our brains are wired to observe others and learn each and every day.
But what if this learning goes haywire? What if there is a disruption in the healthy family environment, an unhealthy traumatic event or a chaotic and abusive situation?
