The Dragon Sanctuary

In the world of Spinfire magic is a part of everyday life, especially in the Dragon sanctuaries where society’s most ancient creatures grow to maturity under the care of their keepers. In the distant past, Dragons were wild, but as food supplies dwindled Spinfarians built sanctuaries as a means to avoid Dragon extinction. Beryl, a young apprentice helping out at her Aunt's Sanctuary, bonds with a newborn Dragon, Boram, and discovers she alone is able to communicate telepathically with her newfound friend. Through Boram, she learns that Dragons are not inarticulate beasts but rather intelligent creatures with detailed histories, family relationships, and a full spectrum of emotions. Together, Boram and Beryl play a significant role in determining the fate between two clashing Empires who use Dragons as pawns and risk their extinction once more.
