Crime and Punishment, and Notes from Underground are two of the most famous novels written by Fyodor Dostoevsky, a Russian author widely considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time. These three books, in particular, are often cited as among his greatest works.
Crime and Punishment is a psychological thriller that follows the story of Raskolnikov, a young, impoverished student who murders an elderly pawnbroker and her sister. The novel explores themes of morality, redemption, and the consequences of one's actions. It is widely regarded as a masterpiece of Russian literature and a seminal work of existentialism.
Notes from Underground is a novella that explores the mind of an unnamed narrator, who is bitter, isolated, and unable to find meaning in his life. The novella is known for its exploration of existential themes, such as the nature of free will, the futility of reason, and the consequences of living a life without purpose. It is widely regarded as one of the first works of existential literature and has had a profound impact on subsequent philosophical and literary movements.
