Gem of a book about an exceptional human being

As with Alice Marble, this book appears to be getting lost instead of heralded. Robert Weintraub writes about an exceptional, inspiring human being. And, Johnathan McClain provides great narration. That a woman could do so much in the 1930's and thru WWII is tremendous. Here's to Alice Marble -- Tennis champion and motivational speaker; Fighter for human rights whether they be gay, black, women's, wounded, etc.; Writer and one of the first for Wonder Woman; Overcoming injury after injury. Well, there is so much more. I hope others discover this book. It is worth the read!

Great narrator. Wonderful story of 1930's women's tennis star, Alice Marble. Author writes about her impoverished youth in San Francisco, overcoming adversity and illness, tennis accomplishments, war adventures, touring the country by car giving motivational talks, and retirement. Don't miss this gem!
