Resumen del Editor

Not only is Graham Peterson unlucky in his choice of careers, he's also been terrible with women throughout his adult life. That changed when he met Alison. But within a month of their meeting, he got the news that he was about to become a father for the first time. The Diary of a Hapless Father charts those first three terrifying months of parenthood.

With all the angst and fear of a new father, Graham needs to pull his socks up if he's going to become the father he always dreamed he would be. With all the pitfalls and worries of a new father charted, this book is for all those who have been through early parenthood, or just want to know how a man deals with all those things internally. Hapless Father is the second in a series of diaries by Graham Peterson, who sometimes thinks he's writing to an alien warlord from the future.

The first audiobook in the series, The Diary of an Expectant Father is available on Amazon and Audible.

Newborn baby

This is the sequel to The Diary of an Expectant Father. I went into this series expecting a comedy about a man making a mess of things. There were a few laughs, but it was actually much deeper than that. Graham is a great guy and did a fantastic job of navigating the first year of becoming a father.

The first book is the journey from finding out his girlfriend of a few weeks is pregnant to the birth. The second book is the first 3 months with a newborn baby. The books are written in diary entry style and I enjoyed seeing Graham's inner thoughts. I liked Graham and Alison, I could relate to the sleepless nights (and days) of early parenthood.

I listened to the audiobook edition which I received free in exchange for an honest review. The narrator was well suited to this book. He spoke clearly and at a good pace.

Graham is at it again ... with Charlie in tow!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Graham, the narrator and writer of the diary, is a great character. Becoming a father is a life changing experience and Graham is tackling it head on. Between midnight feeds and napalm poo nappies, Graham is jumping in head first. I love his dedication to his son and what it takes to be a father. Just as in book 1, Graham is doing all the research he can to do the best he can.

Any additional comments?

The Diary of a Hapless Father: Months 0-3 continues the story of Graham and Alison, a couple who became pregnant after only being together for a month. This book starts where book 1 left off - at the hospital where their son Charlie is born. We join Graham and Alison as they bring baby Charlie home and navigate the first 3 months of parenthood.

As with book 1 in this series, I loved Mr. Sortwell's writing style. Journaling the events as they happen makes for a great read. I also like all of the British slang used in the book ie: nappies (for diapers), lounge (for living room), wind (gas) and grotto (Christmas scene that is usually in a dept store window).

Mr. Watt's reading is just a pleasant as the first book. He continues to give each character their own voice and the emotion he puts forth is great. I loved his display of frustration when Charlie is up all night with colic and how he handled Graham's agitation with it. He truly brought you right into the scene as if you were there.

I would recommend this book to my friends who are new parents and 'old' parents alike. I can't wait to see what happens next to this little family!

Definitely a great book for new fathers

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was just as good as the first one by the same author. I'll be looking for the next one in the series.

Another witty tale about fatherhood!

Father Diaries Book 2: The Diary of a Hapless Father is another quirky, witty comedy about family written by a father. This book starts out with the arrival of the baby. I love how the father (Graham Peterson) starts out by saying I lost my other diary so I started a new one. Here we venture into the life styles and habitat of having a new baby in the home. I had chuckled so many times throughout this book. I loved how the baby is described as cold coming from the mother like cold as getting out of the show. These books are eye openers as well as funny.

The author, Pete Sortwell once again had me totally entertained. Some of the things he said had taken me back to when my kids were born and their father didn't know what was going on. We can laugh about it now as we think back. The narrator, Will M Watt once again delivers another flawless story to us and I still love the accent! Great job guys!

great follow up

Any additional comments?

I revieved this audiobook in return for an unbiased review.

This continues directly from The diary of an expectant father, now the baby is born and Graham loggs all of his frustrations and joys of his newfound fatherhood.

Just as hillarious as the previous book.
I recomend all prospective fathers (or mothers) to listen/read this book.

once again perfectly narrated by Will M Watt, siuted the comical style without sounding rediculous

Excellent sequel

Book two takes up right where the first left off, in a new journal of course. If you have kids, you will relate to how much truth is in this book. Plenty of entries on the complete exhaustion you experience, and just how much a newborn poos.

Graham still puts a lot of humor in his journals as he goes through bonding with Charlie, trying to help out his partner, and dealing with some massive work drama. While both books were fairly short, they are definitely worth a listen whether you have children or not. I hope there will be more of these in the future, would love to see where the story goes.

Will M. Watt does a great job once again with the narration, would love to listen to more from him.

Again Hilarious!!!!!

If you could sum up The Diary of a Hapless Father: Months 0-3 in three words, what would they be?

Welcome to Parenthood!

What other book might you compare The Diary of a Hapless Father: Months 0-3 to and why?

I don't like to compare books every one is unique.

What does Will M. Watt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

British accent of course, hilarious narrating, all the characters are inside my head like I'm watching a movie! Generally AWESOME!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Parenthood is a Bitch! (but don't worry you'll love it all the way)

Oops-Reversed Review This Is Expectant See Below

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

THIS REVIEW IS FOR DIARY OF EXPECTANT FATHER

What a hoot! I love this book, the thoughts, the fears, the foolish things men think of when babies are brought up in conversation. However, they really go wonky when it is an unexpected and unplanned pregnancy with someone you have had no inkling as to forward get married.

This is where Grahm finds himself. It is wonderful from his complaints to the complaints of of the woman who is carrying his child. Everything that should be minor is magnified by fear, annoyance, happiness and anything else. It is what the title explains. It is rather short, a couple of hours long, so I don't want to give too many examples but I will be listening again and I think it will would be a great gift for any expectant father.

Will T Watt is fantastic, of course I find that a British accent makes anything better. Seriously, he had real control over the book and sounded like he may have been through this before.. Well done!

Note: This one is pretty tame - there may have been a cuss word.
