deeply entertaining

was really great adventure. well read, descriptions of underwater dive quite realistic and could easily lise myself beneath the waves. just over too soon. great listen

Great book

Excellent book. Performance was amazing. Lots of adventure and mystery. Great characters and a very unique situation

Great at Sea Horror

The story was suspenseful and creepy. How did the ocean rise up 700 feet and why was there a boat on the bottom of thr ocean which wasn't there before? A fun and easy listen with a great narration. If you like underwater/at sea horror give this one a try.

Breathlessly, Relentlessly Riveting

The pressure builds above and below the water in this outstanding tale of supernatural terror.

Deep Sea Horror

I read this book three years ago and enjoyed it so much that when I was given the opportunity to listen, I jumped at it.
MBC has certainly done his homework which makes the story all the more credible with the convincing detail. I learned a lot about various aspects of deep sea diving which added to my enjoyment.

The story revolves around one woman's search for her sister, thought to have gone missing while on a dive. The main characters are genuine, like-able and relatable and are supported by a great back-up cast of varying depths of humanity.The interaction between them all is what makes it so good. MBC gives you just enough of the back story for each character, enough to understand what horrors could potentially lie ahead for them. Those horrors come from multiple, equally scary, sources.

It's an extremely visual book, almost like it was written for the big screen, (which I would love to see) and my imagination was invaded by a clear picture of what was happening in each scene.
There was a clear moralistic aspect to the characters with an insight into their deepest, darkest fears and desires.

I'm quite new to audiobooks and am still getting used to the slower pace of the narration. The narrator was clear and did a good job with distinguishing the many character voices but I did find the female voices slightly weak (forgivable). I like a little bit of humour with my horror and MBC gets it spot on but sometimes the narrator missed this, I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't already read the book though.

The book doesn't give you all the answers and possibly leaves you with questions, this just adds to the suspense and enjoyment for me. I would definitely recommend it and would also suggest checking out Michaelbrent Collings other books, in particular The Colony series and The Sword Chronicles.

Extremely suspenseful and creepy

This book is extremely good. It is very suspenseful and creepy. Will make you think twice about going into the ocean.

Interesting!

This book was a little drawn out but still a good book. The narrator done a great job telling the story.

Mildly entertaining but not really scary

This story had an interesting premise (which was why I bought it) but it left me a little flat in the end. There was a nice mix of crazy & sympathetic in the cast, but they weren't all developed equally or in much depth, so I ended up not caring much about any of the characters. And the scary mystery at the end was never really explained, so I didn't feel a sense of closure. The narrator did a fine job with his male voices being more varied and of a better quality, but even the women's voices were acceptable.

A real deep story

This was a story that made you really think about what some of us humans really desire in this world from crazy thoughts to good thoughts.

Dive Deep in The Deep

The Deep is a fun and engaging story. The performance matched the tone of the book and kept me interested. Definitely a good one to check out :)
