Acerca de esta escucha

The Russians don't just want to influence American elections - they want it all. Former CIA agent John Wells confronts a plot of astonishing audacity as New York Times best-selling author Alex Berenson goes beyond today's headlines to tomorrow's all-too-real threats.

It was supposed to be a terrorist sting. The guns were supposed to be disabled. Then why was there so much blood?

The target was the American Airlines Center, the home of the Dallas Mavericks. The FBI had told Ahmed Shakir that his drug bust would go away if he helped them, and they'd supply all the weaponry, carefully removing the firing pins before the main event. It never occurred to Sami to doubt them, until it was too late.

When John Wells is called to Washington, he's sure it's to investigate the carnage in Dallas, but it isn't. The former CIA director, now president, Vinnie Duto has plenty of people working in Texas. He wants Wells to go to Colombia. An old asset there has information to share - and it will lead Wells to the deadliest mission of his life, an extraordinary confluence of sleeper cells, sniper teams, false flag operations, double agents high in the US government - and a Russian plot to take over the government itself. If it succeeds, what happened in Texas will be only a prelude.

Another Great John Wells/Berenson Novel !

How could it be better? More Wells more often. Great characters, totally plausible plot line. No assumptions necessary to make it believable. Just a great story, pure and simple.

To make it the best, we have George Guidall. I'd be happy listening to him read paint can labels!

Fantastic

I don't remember reading a Berenson Novel before but now I'm hooked. Guidall is a fantastic narrator as always. I definitely recommend this book for those who like espionage, politics, corruption, and action adventures without the boring back stories and romance that typically finds its way into the plot.

A Great listen!!! On par with Konkoly

The best John Wells yet! Loved it! John Wells at his very best and totally plausible!

The best John Wells yet!!

I've read all 12 John Wells novels, dating back to the first book in 2006. They are all excellent, and this is no exception. There are countless allusions to current political/international events in this book, and it's funny sussing them all out. Guidall is amazing, as always.

While other thriller writers have had subpar books in late 2017-early 2018 Alex Berenson was smiling. He’s wrote a fantastic book winking at current events, easily worth your credits and he even got Guidall to read it, something the latest Mitch Rapp (Flynn) ghost writer cannot claim.

Berenson the best in the game as of Feb 17

Exciting John Wells saves us again. As a conservative I actually laughed out loud as we discover the republican front runner for the presidential nomination’s cousin/chief of staff is a Russian agent facilitating mass slaughter to look like a jihadi. Of course JOHN/CIA/secure in his faith, Muslim sorts it out. I still loved it

Berenson best on audio

I have read all of the John Wells novels and this newest was true to form. Characters and their actions were stop on. John acted , in the end, the way you would expect him to pursuing what he felt was the appropriate course of action regardless of the potential consequences. Keep it simple. Enjoyed the book from front to back.
