Acerca de esta escucha

My name is Bobby Lunger.

Well it used to be when I was a living person. Now I’m a card-carrying member of the Undead. Can you imagine what it would be like if you became a zombie? I know it’s one of those burning questions that everyone secretly thinks about.

In my case, I’m trapped in this old husk of a body, doing the bidding of the hunger, like an unwilling host to the horrors I must inflict on humanity to survive. Being one of the undead comes with pain. The pain of my decaying body and the hunger doesn’t make the pain less bearable. I want to return to the peace of the grave, so I can free myself from this terrible undead life but the hunger won’t allow it. There’s only one solution to my pain-riddled existence: Brains!

It quiets the hunger and restores my body to a more agile and stronger zombie. The more I eat, the better I get. I have no control over the hunger when it decides to make me feed. What a way to unlive?

How did he get here, who is he, and why is he wearing THAT suit? Bobby has no idea. Apparently the zombie apocalypse has arrived and he not only has a front row seat, he’s one of the zombies leading the charge in this horrifyingly funny, brilliantly narrated, as different as it gets audio presentation! I laughed, I cringed, and I shuddered, but did I stop listening? NO I did not! I loved every single minute. Five horrifyingly brilliant stars!

Horrifyingly Funny and SO different!

A fun spirited banter filled zombie apocalypse monologue from a chatty undead who has an oddball adventure. With the first person perspective and it's observational humor this is a narrator's audiobook. Here the narrator has a chill ironic comedic vibe but sometimes feels monotonous, which might be as much from the barrage of perspective as from any verbal skill. The voice helps the material overall and is good for the indie content but if you listen too long might get tiresome (I binged in a day). The plot is a sort of odyssey less existential and more taking in different increasingly surreal environmental sights (wait till you get to a far out conclusion). Aside from weird stuff happens to a guy, not the least of which is he is a zombie, the plot can sometimes feel like vignettes (it:s an odyssey not too slavish about a specific plot other than zombie horde). Weakest when it's a conventional zombie tale my favorite parts were a family subplot and the conclusion, which I sometimes wishes felt longer. At times the casual vibe of the writing veered too into pop culture dropping one reference then another but the just weird enough casual vibe elevates it. Overall psychedelic and fun.

Pretty darn funny 🤣 and worth checking out! A definite LOL story. 👍🏻 I mean I didn't expect the wife and space with aliens.

I loved this story. Different take on the normal zombie books. I hope the story continues because I would love to see what happens next!!

I loved that this story was told by the zombie. The narrator really brought this to life. I was drawn in from the beginning. I grew up watching Zombie movies and this brought back those memories with a new spin. The details are great. A very entertaining listen.

I adkit first if all that as far as a comedy goesnit wasnt really very funny. Amusing yes but not really funny. Now, with that said, I did enjoy it quite a bit.
Bobby was fun and the situations he found himslef in were done quite well for a ridiculous (in the best way) story. If your looking for something that takes itself seriously then then thats your kink and no fault of Bobby's or his crew. By the end things got really over the top and I loved it. We've come this far so..... All In! Narration was great and worked well with the context.
I will check out other work by this author and narator.

This book reminded me so much of the song Re: Your Brains by Jonathan Coulton. It's witty, funny, and dark and the two go together hand in hand. Truly. If you like one, you'll like the other. This book is from the zombie's perspective, and the fact that he's an unwilling participant in the zompocalypse only adds to the humor.

Michael Wetherbee buzzes along and really fits the story. He's go a pleasant tone that sort ads to the humor. It would not have been a good fit for a guy like Joe Hempel, for example.

OMG this is a fun and silly book. Bobby has a vast plethora of knowledge in his zombie brain but doesn’t remember his own life. In this book you will find his widow, damn stairs, drunk and stoned zombie, sick zombie, an alligator, a couple of space ships and some aliens. I think that’s all I can say! Just read or listen to it. You’ll enjoy it I promise! Michael Weatherbee did a great job narrating.

I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator. This book was pretty funny and entertaining, the life of a zombie, by the actual zombies perspective. I thought the narrator was pretty good, he has a pleasant voice not an annoying whiny one.

Too funny
