Very good medieval murder mystery.

I've read about 50 medieval murder mysteries, and this series ranks among the best. It's more of a mystery and thriller than a lesson in the history of everyday life. However, the politics and intrigues are quite realistic. The first book in the series was really good, but this one is even better.
