another good story and performance
even though it was written some time ago the issues discussed are still prevalent today as it relates to the environment and corporate malfeasance. it creates a nice picture of all the different areas of Alaska and the different characters that have lived there and their impact of the environment and the nature of the state on their lives.

David Chandler saved this story!
It started out rather boring and slow. I would have stopped listening if not for the narrator. The first book in this series was better. I hope the next will be, too.

He sure uses a lot of words
The story line is pretty good. David Chandler could read the phone book and make it enjoyable to me. As I say how much I like Chandler I found the authors wordiness very distracting. His description of the most mundane items that have nothing to do with the story make a good story line almost unreadable or unlistenable in my case. There is no doubt if I had read this book I would have only started it, not finished it. As it was I started and stopped several times.

Worst one
This one was mainly description and very little story. I truly do not want to hear about the characters weird sex life and how to skin a deer. Just filler for the book. Hope the rest get better.
