Jordan Wise was an ordinary, unexciting accountant with a San Francisco engineering firm, insecure about his future - until he met Annalise Bonner. She only cared for adventure and the good life and, intoxicated by her, Jordan Wise resolved to get it for both of them. Drawing on his considerable bookkeeping skills, he embezzled half a million dollars of his company's money and arranged the perfect escape for him and Annalise to the Virgin Islands, outside the reach of the law. However, he couldn't control what happened next...

From the beginning, I felt as if I were there. I really enjoyed the narration of the book. Though it was somewhat predictable, it was a well-thought-out storyline.

Makes me want to plan my escape!

What made the experience of listening to The Crimes of Jordan Wise the most enjoyable?

Richard Ferrone, the narator, is often very good. He is probably one of the best of the audio book readers working currently. Also I liked the plot. It was set in the recent past and it is about a man who claims to have committed three perfect crimes. In fiction at least, I like the idea of a perfect crime.

Have you listened to any of Richard Ferrone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to several of Richard Ferrone's other performances and he is usally really good. I can't recall him giving a bad performance.

Any additional comments?

Bill Pronzini, the author, is often very good. He might be best known for his Nameless Detective series, which is excellent, but some of his standalone novels are also worth reading or hearing.
