Sivert is facing his worst nightmare as a police officer. The front page of the morning paper has a picture of him in full police uniform. It leads to a double page article with the worst ever accuses of him as a police officer. He is on the verge of being dismissed and dishonoured from the police force.
He is not the only one to suffer the wrath of the editor that morning. It all reveal a conspiration aimed at getting focus off a fraud case where hundreds of millions are transferred from swindled businesses to accounts in tax havens. The ones behind it wants the police to dismiss the case in its entirety.
Sivert Olafsen is instructed by his boss, the Chief of Police, to restore his and the police force’s reputation by investigating and closing the case.
It leads Sivert Olafsen and his team of investigators on a roller coaster trip around the world facing criminals, child sex abuse, ex. soldiers, crooked lawyers and multinational tax havens to get to the bottom of it.
