The Con

My name is McKenzie and I’m broke. Like eating a single dented can of SpaghettiO’s for two days in a row, broke.

When my shady neighbor, Derek, proposes an idea for some easy money, I make a difficult decision and turn him down. You see, he wants to rob someone from the nice part of town and even though I’m desperate, I don’t know that I’ll ever be THAT desperate.

Until, a few days pass and suddenly I am THAT desperate. Honestly, the whole idea is a bit like Robin Hood… steal from the rich to feed the poor (myself). Robin Hood is a legend so it shouldn’t be too hard to follow in his footsteps, right?

Unless the family you’re trying to con has a son your age. A golden-boy quarterback with certified swoon-worthy abs... er manners, type son. To rob his family, I’ll have to get close to him without revealing all my secrets, or allowing him to steal my heart. Which should be easy, because he’d never be interested in a girl like me… right?
