Historia
It was the winter of 1902; South African park ranger Harry Wolhuter was on horseback, patrolling the area for poachers at Kruger National Park. Little did he know, he was also being stalked. Out of nowhere, two huge male lions pounced on Harry's horse, knocking the man to the ground. The horse ran off, leaving Harry to fend for himself. One of the lions lunged at him - piercing deep into his flesh and bones - and began to drag him far into the jungle to finish him off.

Historia
It’s December 1997, and a man-eating tiger is on the prowl outside a remote village in Russia’s Far East. The tiger isn’t just killing people, it’s annihilating them, and a team of men and their dogs must hunt it on foot through the forest in the brutal cold. As the trackers sift through the gruesome remains of the victims, they discover that these attacks aren’t random: The tiger is apparently engaged in a vendetta. Injured, starving, and extremely dangerous, the tiger must be found before it strikes again.

They live in shadows - deep in the forest, late in the night, in the dark recesses of our minds. They're spoken of in stories and superstitions, relics of an unenlightened age, old wives' tales, passed down through generations. Yet no matter how wary and jaded we have become, as individuals or as a society, a part of us remains vulnerable to them: werewolves and wendigos, poltergeists and vampires, angry elves and vengeful spirits.

Leading a first-class team of research scientists, Colm Kelleher spent hundreds of days and nights on the Skinwalker property.

They say they are here to warn us and help us not to destroy ourselves. Could they have some other purpose in mind? Why are they really here? The Ufonauts presents overwhelming evidence for the fact that they are studying our life forms and taking specimens of plants and animals. And people.

Are significant numbers of humanity the product of an ancient and advanced alien civilization? Have we, across the millennia, been periodically modified and refined as a species? In short, has our genetic make-up been manipulated by otherworldly beings that view human civilization as one big lab experiment? These are controversial and thought-provoking questions. They are also questions that demand answers, answers that may very well be found by examining those people whose blood type is Rh negative.

Horses have a story to tell - one of resilience, sociability, and intelligence and of partnership with human beings. In The Horse, journalist and equestrienne Wendy Williams brings that story brilliantly to life. Williams chronicles the 56-million-year journey of horses as she visits with experts around the world, exploring what our biological affinities and differences can tell us about the bond between horses and humans and what our longtime companions might think and feel.

Just 150 years ago, most of our world was an unexplored wilderness. Our sense of its age was vastly off the mark. And what we believed to be the history of our own species consisted of fantastic myths and fairy tales; fossils, known for millennia, were seen as the bones of dragons and other imagined creatures. How did we learn so much so quickly? Remarkable Creatures celebrates the pioneers who replaced our fancies with the even more remarkable real story of how our world evolved.

Half of all species could disappear by the end of the century, and scientists now concede that most of America’s endangered animals will survive only if conservationists keep rigging the world around them in their favor. So Jon Mooallem ventures into the field, often taking his daughter with him, to move beyond childlike fascination and make those creatures feel more real. Wild Ones is a tour through our environmental moment and the eccentric cultural history of people and wild animals in America that inflects it.

But by the year 2150 big predators may only exist on the other side of glass barriers and chain-link fences. Their gradual disappearance is changing the very nature of our existence. Flying Saucer to the Center of Your Mind is a collection of magazine articles and lectures by the man many consider to be not only the 20th century’s premiere investigator of all things unusual and “Fortean,” but also our very own 20th-century “Mark Twain”: John A. Keel. Many of the articles in this anthology and its companion volumes, "The Outer Limits of the Twilight Zone" and "Searching for the String," were revolutionary, and explored ideas popularized in Keel’s classic books.

Examine the sightings and evidence. Hear from first-hand observers and discover the rich history on the subject. See the full evidence and decide for yourself.

The US has been invaded - if many dozens of eyewitnesses are to be believed - by upright, canine creatures that look like traditional werewolves and act as if they own our woods, fields, and highways. Sightings from coast to coast dating back to the 1930s compel us to ask exactly what these beasts are, and what they want. Researcher, author, and newspaper reporter Linda S. Godfrey has been tracking the man-wolf since the early 1990s. In Real Wolfmen, she presents the only large-scale cataloging and investigation of reports of modern sightings of anomalous, upright canids.

Historia
A story of defiance and determination by a controversial scientist, this is Lee Berger's own take on finding Homo naledi, an all-new species on the human family tree and one of the greatest discoveries of the 21st century. In 2013, Lee Berger, a National Geographic explorer-in-residence, heard of a cache of bones in a hard-to-reach underground cave in South Africa. He put out a call around the world for petite collaborators - men and women small and adventurous enough to be able to squeeze through eight-inch tunnels to reach a sunless cave forty feet underground. It worked.

In The Horse, journalist and equestrienne Wendy Williams brings that story brilliantly to life. Historia

Historia
In 1856 Paul Du Chaillu marched into the equatorial wilderness of West Africa determined to bag an animal that, according to legend, was nothing short of a monster. When he emerged three years later, the summation of his efforts only hinted at what he'd experienced in one of the most dangerous regions on earth. Armed with an astonishing collection of zoological specimens, Du Chaillu leapt from the physical challenges of the jungle straight into the center of the biggest issues of the time.

One of our most influential anthropologists reevaluates her long and illustrious career by returning to her roots and the roots of life as we know it. When Elizabeth Marshall Thomas first arrived in Africa to live among the Kalahari bushmen, she was 19, and these last surviving hunter-gatherers were living as humans had for 15,000 centuries. After a lifetime of interest in the bushmen, Thomas has come to see that their lifestyle reveals great, hidden truths about human evolution.

Not a book, more like a podcast
This is the worst book I've reviewed so far.
It's just not really interesting, and there doesn't seem to be much of a research on the subject (maybe a light wikipedia one) - but hey it's only half an hour, so...
It's not even funny, so I can't really recommend. Unless you are a really bigfoot lover, and everything about it sounds good to you.

Mostly accurate information
The book has mostly accurate information but some of it is wrong. The narrator destroys the narration because he sounds to comical. Sad but true. I received this review copy at my request and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Bigfoot
At the length of 28 minutes, I wouldn't call this "The Complete Guide to Bigfoot." But, if you are looking for a quick introduction into the myth of Bigfoot, this is a pretty good one. The narrator doe a great job and keeps your interest through this short listen.
In my opinion, these short "books" are a great way to see if you are truly interested in the subject. Then, you can search out more lengthy and involved books in order to truly get the complete picture.
I was given the opportunity to listen to this book by the publisher and chose to review it.

A Delightfully Fun Read!
What a delight it would be to read this book by campfire or at night in the car while driving through a forest!
Now I wouldn't say it is a 'complete' guide, but it is completely entertaining.
Normally this kind of narration would drive me crazy, but the narrator truly brought the encounters to life - you almost feel like you are there at the big foot sightings as the writer's wonderful descriptions are combined with the narrator's talent.
Very fun indeed!

Okay
Not horrible, but not a 5 star. Most of the info is from other ppls stories or myths.
The Patterson story & film is mentioned in here, but he admitted before the one guy passed away years ago.....The film was a hoax. Sad, but true it was a suit created by special effects guy friend & when he came forward he apologized for fooling ppl for so many years. They even admitted it was all done for the money & fame they could get from it all. Yep, it did work & still does. Lol. He still claims it's real too.
No, I am sorry, I would not recommend this book IF you want 100% facts. If you just want entertained, then sure why not cuz it's short.
The narrator wasn't to bad. He did speak clearly & kept it fun.
I was given this book for free at my request & I provided my review voluntarily.

All that and more in a bite size read
I didn’t have high hopes for this book as it was short and I thought I probably knew every story they could tell me call my boy was I wrong. They did have a snippet about the Patterson film, but everything else were stories I had never heard including some from the 1800s before. I am glad I got this book. I love hearing stories I haven’t heard before. I thought the narrator was a little bit too excited to be reading this book. He sounds like a nice guy, He should just tone it down a little.

Fun and Enlightening!
I found this book fun... and it answered a few common questions... and reasons for why there are so many sightings, but we have no real evidentiary proof. It opens the mind to a comparative plethora of possibilities utilities! The Narration was well done and easily interpreted! This book was provided free of charge in exchange for a fair review. Thank You!
