In the high-altitude silence of the Wasatch, isolation is sold as the ultimate luxury.

Aspen Crest promises a private Eden for the ultra-rich—a glass-and-steel sanctuary poised to reshape the wilderness. But when the project’s star investor vanishes into a sub-zero whiteout, the dream development curdles into a nightmare.

Authorities rule it an accident. Detective Gin Kendal knows the mountain doesn’t work that way.

Drawn into a hunt that defies logic, Gin tracks a ghost—a figure shaped by rock and ice, moving through storms without leaving a print. He isn’t driven by greed; he is a protector who has turned the terrain itself into a weapon.

As an avalanche of secrets begins to slide, Gin follows a trail buried beneath money and snow. In a place where storms rewrite history, the truth may surface—but at a cost no badge can shield her from.

This breakout novel by Uriel DeMers is chilling in so many degrees; about a merciless mountain and a twisted murderer on a mission against the greed and corruption of the mega-rich and their minions. It’s a tale you can’t put down so curl up and get warm; lock your windows and doors - because it’s cold outside.

Such a fantastic book by Uriel Demers. Great writing and amazing storytelling. I was literally at the edge of my seat. It’s so engaging especially with the depth of tone of the narrator John Prince. Honestly this should get adapted to a movie because it feels so visual and thrilling. Absolutely loved it!
