From the Graveyard of the Pacific to the paradise of the Polynesian Islands…
This is the true story of a journey with real people, real places, and the adventures that inevitably follow.
Katherine and Andrés leave lucrative jobs and a stable life to accomplish his dream of sailing the world.
She worries what awaits them beyond the horizon: Failure? Pirates? Poverty? Will they make it to the South Pacific, and will they survive the voyage? (Better yet, will their marriage?)
The epic expedition puts them face-to-face with waves that threaten to take their lives, whales that take their breath away, and strangers who show serendipitous hospitality.
Katherine, a natural storyteller, invites you aboard to experience first-hand an immersive, multimedia journey that places you on deck as they cross the world’s largest ocean.
The Co-Captain's Log features:
- An ensemble cast with stories read by the authors
- A multimedia Pacific Crossing experience with photos, videos, and audio
- An accompanying PDF with maps, full-color photos, and recipes so you can get your bearings as you travel through the book

©2024 Katherine Gonzalez & Andres Gonzalez (P)2025 Posada Publishing LLCI'm lucky enough to know Katherine. more than 20 years ago, I was working with the Rotary Youth Exchange program in my first year as a country contact for France, Mexico, and Thailand. Catherine was in that first class of students that we said abroad, spending her year in France. I like to think that The time she spent during a year abroad as a high school student away from family and friends living in a culture she knew relatively little about, laid a foundation of sorts.. at least to some small degree... for her taking on the role that unfolds in this audiobook.
But my rating of five stars across the board is not a reflection of my acquaintance with the author. I would recommend this to anyone who loves travel, the thought of the wide open ocean, the thrill of adventure!
What a great story, and a wonderful use of my time. Katherine, I don't know where your next adventures are taking you, but wherever they are... sign me up for the book!
An adventure around every corner, and I would have expected nothing less.
