sounded almost robotic

decent storyline. narrator sounded quite robotic. good imagery and suspense. Five words remaining before I can end this review.

definitely not the best book I have listened to this year. But overall it's not too bad.

A Really Good Modern American Noir Crime Novel

This is a intense modern crime drama set in Omaha, Neb. The audiobook is very well read. The story started slightly slowly, but that was probably necessary to build the foundation of the story. By the end I found the story to be the audiobook version of a "page turner".

I read and listened to this novel simultaneously. This is the first novel I have read by this author. I have already purchased a second novel.
If one likes modern American Noir Crime Drama, one may wish to consider this one. Thank You...

All I can say is "Wow!!" One of the best I've listened to. Once started it is hard to stop, makes you want more.

it kept me listening but never really went anywhere. shit just.kind of unfolded without any real twists.

I didn’t enjoy this reader as much as others

I felt that the book was predictable. i found it easty to follow and i could get back into it anywhere. not always a god thing for me.
The more complicated the story the more i go back to refresh what is happening and figure out the characters. These guys were pretty basic. It took about 5 days to get through listening on way to work and in free times.

maybe better to read than on audible?

Lots of POV changes throughout. But no cues provided by the narrator at all. I felt like every few minutes I was wondering whose perspective the story was being told from, very distracting and made it very unenjoyable.

Great voice, lackluster story.

The voice actor was A-OK. The story just doesn’t... go anywhere. There’s verbs and such, but not really any implications after the fact.
