Acerca de esta escucha
For twenty-five year old Jared Lapp, life has been a mix of struggles and blessings. One blessing is his twin bruder, Isaac, while one struggle is how tending to their sickly parents until they passed on has delayed their plans for courting and marriage.
For twenty-five year old Joanna Weaver, life has also been a mix of struggles and blessings. One blessing is her younger brother, Michael, while one struggle is his diagnosis of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, which inspired her to become a nurse.
Living near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Jared and Joanna’s lives are filled with faith. Still, when their lives collide with romantic interest, they know how impossible their situation is. Will Jared marry the girl he’s been courting? Will Joanna be forced to lose him? Or will their faith, despite their impossible situation, provide a Christmas wedding?
A heartwarming and faith-filled Christmas novella, The Christmas Wedding: An Amish Christmas story, can be read in two or three sittings.
Includes as a bonus the first chapter of the author’s first Amish Christmas story, The Forgiveness Quilt: An Amish Christmas Carol.
To those considering the AI narrated audio version of this book, please be aware that AI narration isn’t perfect. One issue you might notice is AI narration is unable to use different voices for different characters, so it may not be clear which character is speaking for short sections of dialogue. Another is the lack of emotion in the narrator’s voice. Despite those issues, AI narration has come a long way, and is still an enjoyable way to listen to a book, especially since they usually cost the purchaser much less than human narrated books.
If a previous reader of this book listens to the audiobook version, they will hear it in third-person point of view instead of the original dual first-person point of view. This is for two reasons. One is the AI narration does not allow for two different voices, and it would’ve made the narration less enjoyable to have either a male or female voice for both characters. The second is the AI narrated version is derived from the eBook, so the eBook had to be in third-person point of view to create the AI narrated audiobook. The original manuscript was written in dual first-person point of view. For continuity, future paperback versions will also be in third-person point of view.
Thank you for understanding.
