Years after their first meeting changed the course of his life, Teddy and his best friend Scarlet embark on a road trip to join her family at their Christmas Cabin in the mountains. Along the way, Teddy finds his feelings for her, which he has buried for their entire friendship, bubbling to the surface. He knows that he has to hide those feelings if he wants to maintain the amazing friendship they share, but after enjoying another joyous Christmas week with her family, Teddy is finding it harder and harder to keep himself in the friend zone. However, a sudden new job opportunity across the country combined with unexpected news could be the thing that inevitably makes him decide that the friend zone is the only answer for their future.

When her love life takes an unexpected turn, Scarlet invites her best friend to join her and her family for Christmas. During the course of their trip, Scarlet has to come to terms with a life-changing secret and although she wants to tell her best friend, their time together and the joy they share on the road, finds her keeping her secret longer than intended, even though it means that she needs to deal with her secret and the consequences of it alone. Through the course of their Christmas week together, sharing memories of Christmas Past and joyous activities, Scarlet starts to see Teddy in a new light, however, an unexpected snowstorm and her own notions of what is best for him, may prevent her from having the chance to let him into her heart.
