Both Rome and the Orthodox Church claim to be the Church Christ founded-the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church of the Nicene Creed. How can we judge between these competing claims? This useful and accessible book helps listeners to do just that. For those who are seeking a spiritual home, Fr Daniel Daly offers straightforward guidance. For those who are seeking the truth, this book makes a compelling case for the choice of Orthodoxy. The SVS Press audiobook program is sponsored by The Orthodox Vision Foundation. This book is compares the practices, teachings, and some of the major historical and other characteristics of Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy, as well as the authors personal perspectives as an Irish Catholic American celibate priest who decided to join the Orthodox Church and marry and became a married priest in the Orthodox Church, and raised a happy family in the Orthodox Church. For me, coming from a protestant evangelical background, and having discovered Orthodox spirituality in my mid 30s and converted formally through the holy mystery of baptism and chrismation to Greek Orthodox in my early 40s, this book added to my understanding of Roman Catholicism and its similarities and differences from Eastern Orthodoxy. The key takeaway being that Roman Catholicism has been seeing major changes and reforms while Orthodoxy remains steady and stable in its life based around the divine liturgy and regular member participation in the holy mysteries as revealed by Jesus and the Holy Spirit and passed down from the Apostles as sacred living tradition of eldership overseen by each city's episcopos until today, a stable and reliable ship in the sea of human history.

This was an excellent presentation of the differences between the two historic faiths. I recommend to anyone searching spiritually and are at the intersection of these.
