Charlotte and Thomas fail to see that Kate is becoming a young woman with dreams and temptations of her own. And when their beloved son, Ben, returns from the battlefield wounded and bitter, the secrets they've all been keeping threaten to explode their world.

Disappointing

I was looking forward to a historical novel set in Door County during WW II. Instead it is a series of sexual liaisons with the cherry harvest as the backdrop.

Great narration

I liked the narration and the descriptions I did not like the violence in this story. The murders were not necessary to the story
