Surprisingly moving story

Read this because the heroine is the sister of the Hardigan Brother series by the same author. Now I want to read the two other books in this series. Loved these two characters and their journeys of finally accepting who they are and how they fit but don't fit in their respective worlds that brings them together. Narration was a bit tough for me in the beginning. I had to start listening a couple of times until the story grabbed me enough that I paid no attention to the narration. Male voices are weak and the tone sounds computer generated. When I thought that might be on purpose because she was trying to portray the scientific, purely logical tone of the heroine, I was able to get into the story more.

Oh! I am enjoying this series so much! I started this in audio at the worst time in my life and it has kept me from breaking down. It is Hudson's turn and oh my he is in for it. He meets Felicia Hartigan, an ant researcher, a nerd from a large and loud family and she has a goal, she wants Tyler Jacobson, her childhood friend. Hudson sets himself up as her "coach" to help her get her man but what happens when all the moves and grooves he teaches Felicia work for him and her and they fall in love...oh my...So, so, good!

Great series so far.

Can't wait to read book 3. Avery Flynn is my new favorite guilty pleasure author!

I should have listened to a sample 1st. Sometimes a career in a story, takes a backseat. I'm not an ant fan.

Loved this! The storyline is fun, flirty, and super enjoyable! The narrator did great. I would recommend listening to the first book in the series before this one.

Fun Listen

I love Avery Flynn and is my go to when I feel I need a good laugh and this one didn't disappoint. The characters are quirky wth good banter and a well developed story. Following along with these two as their relationship developed was fun. A nice easy listen with good narration.

Ant Scientist? Secret Artist? My Fair lady? Yeah!

I am pleasantly surprised this went so well. I have been finding that the weirder the circumstances, the better the story lately. Maybe because I am getting bored of the stereotypical romance lately. So many with the same plot and the same cliches. I like different and this had a bit different. The Hero Hudson was the real winner here. It seemed like he had it all before this started, but what he found out about himself along the way allowed him to finally find himself with real happiness. The Heroine Felicia already knew what she wanted, but only what her mind would tell her and nothing from the heart. Her "plans" revolved around what she thought would work well for her and she was comfortable with. Some nerves, but nothing heart pounding. Both had no clue. Neither could see past their plans until they were forced to spend time together. The performance was well done and I recommend their story. I read these out of order so don't miss the start of the Hartigan's stories in Butterface or The Ice Knights series after that. Up next for me is The Schemer. Enjoy!

Enjoyed the storyline but

I really enjoyed the storyline but with this being a series I didn’t understand why book 2 revealed that Tyler was married at the end, with book 3 being Tyler’s story. Also at the end of book 1 Sawyer and Clover got married, but in the beginning of book 2 they weren’t. More of a stand-alone to me.

Cute, sexy romance

I enjoyed everything about this romance. It had great characters and featured a well-developed love story between Felicia and Hudson. The dialogue was entertaining and the sex scenes were steamy. Usually, romances that rely heavily on misunderstandings annoy me because the conflict can be resolved easily by the main characters having a simple, adult conversation. In this book, however, the growing feelings between Felicia and Hudson occur in such a way that you understand why Felicia and Hudson both keep their feelings to themselves for as long as they did. They each look for signs to be able to open up, but they also both misinterpret what they see/hear. Overall, this is an enjoyable, well-written romance.
