Chicago. 1979. Charlie Johns, former cop and current P.I., is broke. He owes money to the mob. When a 92-year-old woman demands that Charlie find her twin sister, money no object, it seems like a reprieve. The missing sister has run off with a younger man and left few clues behind. Charlie is on the case but the local mob boss forces him to “talk to” a priest who’s interfering with the mob’s protection racket. Threats of violence don’t dissuade the priest. Charlie tracks the missing sister to Miami but receives an alarming phone call. Charlie’s girlfriend is being held by the mob. Can Charlie find her and avoid full-out war with the mob? And can he make peace between two elderly women with long-term grudges?
