The Case of the Missing Homework follows the misadventures of Marie Lane, a clever and imaginative pre-teen, as she faces a crisis: her homework has mysteriously disappeared! On what should have been a regular morning, panic strikes when Marie discovers her hard work is missing just before it's due. Her usual confidence gives way to frantic searching, from her cluttered bedroom to her school locker, but the elusive assignment is nowhere to be found.
Not one to give up, Marie enlists the help of her friends, Mia and Kevin. Together, they retrace Marie's steps, diving headfirst into a series of increasingly absurd situations in their quest to recover the missing homework. From rifling through the school's chaotic lost and found and the trio leaves no stone unturned.
After exhausting all their options, they resort to a last-ditch effort—digging through the school's trash.
In the end, Marie learns valuable lessons about responsibility, perseverance, and the unwavering support of her friends.
