The classic haunting tale by Oscar Wilde, "The Canterville Ghost" is the story of an American family moving in to the ancient Canterville Chase in England, which has all the accoutrements of the traditional English haunted house! Lord Simon Canterville, the resident denizen of the afterlife, haunts the halls of this hallowed home with all the superiority his ghostly skills have afforded him lo these past centuries. That is, of course, until the Otis family, from America, move in and give him a devil of a time!
