Acerca de esta escucha

The BRAND NEW nail-biting thriller from NUMBER ONE bestselling author of The Wives! Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden and Lisa Jewell.

Helen wanted to believe the bookshop was a fresh start. But the past had a way of creeping in, whispering through the shelves, refusing to be left behind.

Helen Appleby just wants a quiet life. Recently released from prison for the manslaughter of her partner, she's trying to forget her past mistakes – all of them - to rebuild her life and move on.

When she decides to open a bookshop, she’s certain this is the perfect new start. Here, amongst the quiet shelves of her shop and between the covers of her books, she can hide away from the real world and begin again. The world of books is the perfect place to find happiness - even if it is all lies.

But the past can never stay hidden…

As she settles into life as an apparently timid bookseller, it seems that someone is determined to sabotage Helen's new life and ruin everything she's built.

But Helen has killed once before. And to protect her future, she could be willing to kill again...

I always love listening/reading one of Valerie Keith's books, you never know what you might hear. This one DIDN'T disappoint. All the different twists and turns were exciting you didn't know where the book would end. Had a very surprising ending and new friendship. It's nice also to hear of someone making a second chance successful.

I was completely captivated by Valerie Keogh's “The Bookseller.” Narrated by Rose Robinson, Keogh’s story creatively weaves together suspicion, mystery, suspense and intrigue, keeping me hooked from the very start. Robinson’s narration is, as always, exquisite, bringing the ensemble cast to life with skillful brilliance and talent. How does she do it? The tone and range she displays proves her pitch-perfect vocals, time after time, pure genius. I'm a huge fan of the Keogh/Robinson duo and am consistently seek out more of their collaborations. The plot follows Helen Appleby, a complex woman trying to rebuild her life after a dark past, but secrets and disruption threaten her newfound calm. If like myself, you enjoy gripping psychological thrillers, add “The Bookseller” to your list. A shocker of the ending had me surprised; I never saw that complexellence coming. Highly recommended. Never a dull moment, I can honestly say, satisfaction guaranteed! Grab this one now; I struck pure gold when I discovered “The Bookseller” during an awesome Audible sale for an amazing cost of $2.35. I’m anxiously looking forward to starting Keogh’s “The Mistress,” along with two titles for the second time…
